Story

My name is Kodie, founder of Broke N Bored.
After a tumultuous youth and a life spent around extreme sports, I ended up, in more ways than one, a little broken myself.

So when I started making things from broken skateboards, it quickly became about more than woodworking.

I saw something in those old decks. They were scratched, snapped and seemingly finished—but inside were layers of colour and character you couldn't see until they were broken open.

That became the idea behind Broke N Bored:

Beauty from the Broken.

And eventually, it gave the brand its name.

Broken board. Broke N Bored. Get it?

Okay, it's a bad joke. But the more I thought about it, the more the name meant something.

I've spent enough of my life broke and bored to know it's a place most of us have been. Maybe not literally broke, maybe not literally bored—but we've all felt stuck, knocked down, written off, or unsure what comes next.

That's kind of the point.

Broken doesn't mean finished.

Sometimes it just means it's time to make something new.

And that's what I want Broke N Bored to do—not just with skateboards, but within the skate community.

From the beginning, the goal was bigger than turning broken boards into rings, pendants and knives.

I wanted to create a cycle.

Skaters break boards.
We turn the broken boards into something beautiful.
You support what we create.
Together, we put new boards back under kids' feet.

Every sale helps fund our goal of producing skateboards to give back to the community—turning yesterday's broken boards into tomorrow's first kickflip, first slam, first landed trick, or first reason to fall in love with skating.

Break boards. Make something beautiful. Put someone else on one.

That's Broke N Bored.
